Fore Color, Back Color, and Fill Pattern let you choose how Canvas sets these properties of the copies. If the check box is not selected, these properties are the same as those of the original object. For Fore Color and Back Color, choose By Gradient to use a gradient of colors between the Start and End colors. Choose By Palette to use the colors in the current palette between the Start and End colors. Choose Constant to use the Start color for all of the copies.
